Frequently Asked Questions

1) what is a health coach?

A person who listens to you and encourages you toward any goals you have to feel heathier and happier. Together, you and I determine what you need to thrive mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically so you feel content in your whole life. We can cover nutrition, sleep, lifestyle habits, relationships and anything else that is important to you.

2) what issues have you overcome in your life?

Anorexia. Acne. Insomnia. GI issues. Gender dysphoria. Depression. Anxiety. Suicidal thoughts. Despair. Grief. Chronic joint pain. Sinus infections. Seasonal and good allergies. Mood swings. Bloating. Weight gain/loss. Headaches. Fatigue. Changing where I live. Changing who I love. Changing jobs. I could go on…

3) what’s your specific expertise?

The process of transformation—specifically how to overcome fear, self-doubt and perfectionism to take action to make the changes necessary to grow, heal and thrive. I offer my support to help you overcome confusion to take concrete action toward changing habits or making other life changes. Most human beings want or need support in one or all of these areas.

4) what are coaching sessions or your classes like?

In private sessions, you talk. I listen. I ask you questions. We laugh (hopefully, if you think I'm funny). We figure out what you want and need to thrive. You might ask me for answers but I won't give them to you. Instead, I encourage you toward your own wisdom. In my classes, we get honest and real FAST so we can troubleshoot and make progress. We address elephants in the room that most people avoid in everyday life and we HAVE A LOT OF FUN.

5) what would you do if you weren't a coach?

I'd probably be a Buddhist monk.

6) when is your book coming out?

Good question.

7) what else do you do?

I sleep a lot, go for walks, read or journal. I'm a good cook. I listen to music pretty much every waking hour. I watch movies occasionally and I listen to the birds. I write. I read. Did I mention those twice?

8) I see from some of your videos and writing that you’re trans*. Are your clients LGBTQIA+?

Nope, hardly any are, in fact. It’s not my specialty. Since 2009, I think 8 of the many clients I’ve had were trans* or even LGBTQIA+. Most of my clients are heterosexual, cisgender people who want or need a good listener to support them. For them, I’m a coach who has really walked his talk and been through a lot so they find me relatable.
